This October, JHLC’s newest see-and-be-seen networking program for young professionals, YAD, had their second successful speaker event featuring Doug Hertz. Doug is the President and CEO of United Distributors, Chairman of Camp Twin Lakes and very involved member of the Jewish Community. Attendees listened to stories about his journey into philanthropy; he was engaging, and offered great advice to young professionals about getting involved in the Atlanta Community. He recited his favorite Teddy Roosevelt quote about not letting fear get in your way, and offered that if you don’t put yourself out there you are only cheating yourself. A major piece of wisdom he offered was to do what you say and earn others trust. Guests walked away energized and inspired.
The inaugural program, held this past summer, featured Atlanta business icon Sid Kirschner, who spoke to the audience of mostly millennial up-and-comers about the importance of philanthropy when building a successful business and the positive impact it has had on his life.
