The Cohen Home is committed to providing a living space worthy of being called home. With inviting common areas, finding a cozy spot to read a book, play cards or visit with friends and loved ones is easy. Multiple alcoves with views of our enchanting gardens provide a quiet sanctuary for chess, knitting or telling great stories. Whatever your loved one enjoys, The Cohen Home has the space for it.
Our 42 fully accessible studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments:
- Are decorated with the residents’ own furniture and keepsakes
- Have spacious floor plans with kitchenettes that include a full-size refrigerator
- Have private bathrooms equipped with handrails and hand-held showers
- Have individual heating and air conditioning controls
- Include basic utilities (electric and water)
- Have telephone and cable television hookups
- Have weekly housekeeping and laundering of bed linens and clothing
- Have daily trash removal
Services for a Smooth Transition.
Moving away from familiar surroundings or a family home can seem overwhelming, but at The Cohen Home we help connect families with local medical professionals, including our own Nurse Practitioner. We coordinate with local caregivers and work with families to help make the transition as smooth as possible. We offer as little or as much assistance as needed to promote independence and enhance the lives of our residents. We are also the only senior care organization in Georgia that utilizes the I’m Still Here® philosophy of engagement.
Our comfortable community areas include:
- A dining room for meals, theme nights and Shabbat or holiday dinners
- Private dining areas where residents enjoy special events or private visits with family and friends
- Our Suzi’s Brew Café provides a more intimate space to enjoy a snack with friends
- Functional and attractive family rooms furnished with comfortable seating and large, flat screen televisions
- A bright and inviting front entrance, foyer and parlor seating areas
- A fully stocked library and Wi-Fi throughout the building
- An arts and crafts room for activities that inspire creativity and imagination
- Beautiful gardens, walking paths, porches and relaxation areas
- A beauty salon for hair and nail care for both ladies and men
- Two elevators for additional assistance when needed
Our health and wellness services include:
- Three delicious, chef-prepared meals plus snacks throughout the day
- A community bus for resident outings
- Transportation to individual medical appointments
- A full time Activity Director to keep residents engaged and connected
- A 24-hour call system with trained staff available for assistance
- Full-time Registered Nurses on staff
- Special diet management (diabetic, low sodium, cardiac, etc.)
- Monthly weight, wellness and health assessments
- A free Caregiver Support Group that meets monthly
- Monthly visits from community specialists: podiatrists, dentists, physicians and more
