Jennifer Curry, the new information and referral concierge/manager for AgeWell Atlanta

Jennifer L. Curry, MPH named Information & Referral Concierge/Manager

ATLANTA (November 2019) – Jewish Atlanta announces AgeWell Atlanta, a new collaborative partnership among: Jewish Family & Career Services (JF&CS) Atlanta, Jewish HomeLife (JHL), the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA), and Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (Federation).

Modeled after AgeWell Pittsburg, AgeWell Atlanta serves as a platform for providing a collaborative, coordinated system of care for older adults. AgeWell Atlanta serves all people regardless of their faith, race, or nationality and provides a centralized point of entry for older adults and their families to locate resources provided across the service organizations.

“This unprecedented collaboration will allow AgeWell Atlanta to carry out our mission to enable older adults in our community to age well through improved independence, quality of life, and social connection,” said Eric Robbins, CEO, Federation. “AgeWell Atlanta supports our vision of helping Jewish Atlanta thrive, particularly in rising up higher for those in need as we co-create and partner in programs and services that lift up human beings.”

Atlanta is home to one of the fastest growing senior communities in the country. Most older adults prefer to stay in their own homes as they age, which increases the need for a coordinated system of care. A grant from Federation is enabling AgeWell Atlanta to respond by creating a centralized concierge, through which older adults and caregivers can access a coordinated continuum of services supporting maximum wellness, wherever they reside.

Jennifer L. Curry, MPH was recently named Information & Referral Concierge/Manager for AgeWell Atlanta and will serve as a single-entry point to provide guidance, information and warm hand-off referrals to the service agencies. AgeWell Atlanta connects older adults and caregivers to coordinated programs and services ranging from social support and wellness, to housing, homecare, transportation, and medical services.

“The options for older adults can be overwhelming and confusing,” says Curry, who has more than a decade of experience helping older adults navigate resources, including work with the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Connection. “These three agencies provide a depth of experience and offerings, which allows AgeWell Atlanta to connect older adults with the many services they may need along the care continuum.”

Federation serves as a community incubator and amplifier that creates and nurtures partnerships to enable projects, such as AgeWell Atlanta, to move forward in a bigger way to best serve the community.

The three AgeWell Atlanta partner agencies providing services and support for older adults and their families include:

Aviv Older Adult Services of JF&CS, facilitates access to and provides person-centered supportive services to optimize and encourage independence and overall well-being for aging individuals while also helping them and their families navigate life transitions and changing circumstances. “AgeWell Atlanta offers our community a united and collaborative approach to serving those we love and care for.
